June 9, 2016 – Sound Generations today held their annual Inspire Positive Aging Awards Luncheon at the Bellevue Hilton. Longtime Des Moines “Super Volunteer,” Dick Body, was recognized for his outstanding service as a Volunteer Driver for Sound Generations Transportation, Sound Generations Meals on Wheels, South King County Fire and Rescue, and Des Moines/Normandy Park Senior Activity Center. Dick is well known at the Center for his meals on wheels deliveries, arranging volunteer rides to activities and escorting folks to medical appointments every week in his “little red sports car.” The seeming tireless volunteer started back in 2008 as a Hyde Shuttle Driver for Senior Services. Recently, he has scaled back his schedule to care for his wife who is struggling with dementia. Last December, the Tillicum Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution awarded Richard Body the DAR Community Service Award for 2015.
