Dementia Friends is a global movement changing the way people think, act, and talk about dementia. The UW Memory and Brain Wellness Center is the state lead for the program in Washington state and partners with organizations and volunteers across the state to spread awareness about dementia through free, 60-minute Dementia Friends Information Sessions. These sessions are delivered by trained individuals to community members and sector-specific groups within the community. Information shared during the sessions include what dementia is, the most common type of dementia, key messages to know, communication tips, ways to take actions, and resources and support that are available. We invite your senior center to join the movement!
