Take just 10-15 minutes to share your thoughts on the DMFB program and the support needed to implement it in your organization. Five survey respondents will be randomly selected to receive a $100 gift card! For questions, please contact the UW research team at dmfb@uw.edu

Do More, Feel Better” (DMFB) is a streamlined lay-led, self-management version of a highly effective treatment for depression. DMFB is showing great promise among both English and Spanish-speaking older adults in senior centers (for more details, please see article by the National Council of Aging and feature in the Seattle Times). DMFB is delivered by older adult volunteer coaches in nine 45-minute weekly visits with older adults with depressive symptoms. It can be delivered in-person (such as at a senior center), videoconference, or telephone. The coach’s role is to help the participant plan to do more activities they value and enjoy. Coaches receive training and regular supervision.

The purpose of the survey is to learn what organizations think about the DMFB program and what supports are needed to deliver this program at organizations like yours. This feedback is crucial for assisting senior centers, community-based organizations, and other service providers interested in adopting DMFB.

We are currently validating the effectiveness of DMFB through a large NIMH-funded study at the University of Washington, Weill Cornell Medical College, and the University of South Florida. Input from those directly involved in social service organizations or those involved in serving older adults is essential for shaping our next steps.
