Hello! My name is Rosie Rodriguez-Lee, and I am proud to serve as one of the Regional Training Consultants (RTCs) with the Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC). I’ve been with the OIC since August of 2024 and have learned so much in such a short time. There is still so much more to learn, and I’m enjoying every step of the way!
In my role as an RTC, I support Pierce County by providing Basic Training and Continuing Education sessions for volunteers with the Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA) program. I also research and answer questions regarding Medicare and Medicaid and consult with beneficiaries/clients regarding healthcare plan options and access.
I have the privilege of working with our Pierce County sponsored agencies, Sound Outreach and Pierce County Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC). The SHIBA program provides a wide array of community support. In my RTC role I work with the sponsor/Volunteer Coordinator to ensure they meet contractual obligations and explore opportunities for further promotion and growth of the SHIBA program in local communities.
