Annual Conference
A Professional Development Opportunity

“I have enjoyed the WASAC conference so much!  I was able to bring back a lot of good information on programming and how to improve and update what is currently happening to appeal to a wider audience.  The board of directors was impressed with the information brought back as was Senior Services in Seattle.  The handouts were widely shared on my return so that many could benefit.  I highly recommend belonging. “

What a delight it was to meet you and the WSASC board in Yakima. I had a fantastic time at the conference and came away refreshed, excited and ready to roll. I enjoyed everything about the conference and feel so lucky to be in profession with such compassionate and hard working individuals. Kudos to you all for a job well done!

Networking With Peers

The opportunity to learn from other peers in the field is one of the best reasons to be a member of WSASC.  Whether you are from an urban or rural area, whether you have city funding or are on your own for funding, you have resources at hand.

We have an e-mail system where all the members communicate.  It’s a great way to get assistance with new programs and policies.  We also share ideas, policies, and job openings through our email system.

If you’re unsure about a new program, or a particular policy, try it out on your peers!  You are likely to get great information and resources.

“The networking that goes on through our emails is priceless. It also a great source of information for those of us who are new and for those (I imagine) who need some new and fresh ideas. Even when the question sent out doesn’t specifically pertain to us, it makes us stop and think or just shows us what others are thinking about.”
